Seaweed Scarf #1 and #2

This set of scarves was made as a gift, given to two sisters by a third.  The design grew out of a few personal details that I then turned into an abstract design and specific color profile.  The inspiration for this motif came from shared family memories: the ocean, a special polka-dotted tie, and Irish-blue eyes.

Flight Pattern Scarf #1

I received a color request for purple as I was designing the Flight Pattern series.  The client liked the design, so as I began to make the scarves, I warp-painted one with the burgundy, blue, and red design seen above with her purple scarf color in mind.  When the scarf came off the loom, its background color was white, and I over-dyed the finished piece to a deep purple.

Soft Beat Ikat Scarf

I received a highly time-sensitive request for a birthday gift: the client wanted a scarf for his girlfriend, whose favorite color is purple.  This Soft Beat Ikat scarf was a perfect base for a bright purple over-dye.  The color takes on many different shades due to the combination of white and black weft with white and navy warp.  I was able to complete this custom request in three days.
