You may have noticed that I haven't put any of my newest scarves up for sale on Etsy. That is because I have decided to build a real website for Little Fool! Well, I'm not building it: I've hired
Thread Studio Web Design to do it for me. It's a big and rather costly step for me. A well-designed plot of my own in the great virtually rolling pastures is not cheap, but it's an important investment in my business. I can't wait to have an online storefront, but it will be a few more months before www.littlefooltextiles.com (yay!) is up and running. I found my designer while strolling over the hills of the above-mentioned pasture: there I came upon an online retailer (a small textile business like myself) called Helen Sharp Knitwear, whose site was designed by
Thread Studio, and I really liked the way her product was presented. Check it out:
www.helensharpknitwear.com/. I think my layout will be similar, of course with my own Lf-style fonts and colors and all that stuff. There is so much to consider, even when I'm not the one doing the majority of the work! It does seem appropriate that I am getting a big-girl website for little fool now, as the business reaches its first birthday. I don't usually make a big deal out of birthdays, but I had some fun today looking back at my first blog posts from July 2010 (talk about bright-eyed and bushy-tailed!) Anyway, a website is a big gift for a one year-old, but it's been a year of growth upon growth. I'm not even talking specifically about sales, though they have been steady and very encouraging. I think the scarves themselves are the true markers of how far I've come in a year. Onward and upward, little fool! www dot!!!
